About Me After winning first place in my category and second place overall in the 2003 Calgary Region Home Builders Association Design competition, I realized my dream! It paved the way for numerous great successes including acceptance into Mt. Royal College's Interior Design Program. Now in my Third Year of the program, I have grown exponentially - abstract works no longer defy me, and adrenaline rushes from projects keep me pumped through each day. I am on the Interior Design Students Society as the senior Materials Representative and enjoy taking part in all extracurricular school related activities. I have now completed my first Directed field studies Internship Position and feel well prepared to enter the work force. Through my directed field studies I was able to refine my AutoCAD skills, space planning capabilities, |
finishes selection and design administration processes. I worked in a team environment with numerous other Interior Designers, Architectural Technologists and Architects to produce works for numerous clients. Most of the projects I worked on were warehouses and offices. I prepared everything from space plans to Construction documents, building permits, coordinating with engineers and working with clients. This has been a great opportunity and will be beneficial for my progress in the year to come. Fall 2005 I will be back in school to complete my sixth semester. This semester's focus is on retail and restaurant design which is definitely something I am looking forward to. I will be further refining my AutoCAD proficiency and learning how to create computer renderings. |
